Drop forging in steel at the highest level –
Your IATF 16949 certified forging plant

Solid forming is the foundation of Cotarko GmbH. We have been manufacturing heavy-duty precision forgings for the automotive industry and global mechanical engineering at our Cologne site since 1961.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford-Werke, we combine the process reliability of a global corporation with the agility of a specialized industrial company. With an annual throughput of 41,000 tons of steel, we are your high-performance partner for high-volume production.

Innovation by tradition – our technical milestones

  • Pioneering work: In 1982, we put the world’s first Hatebur AMP 70L for impact extrusion parts into operation.

  • Precision: We have been relying on Smeral cross wedge rollers for close-fitting gear shafts since 1990.

  • Future: Continuous investment in own tool stores (2021) and automated assembly lines for wheel hubs.

Cotarko Schmiedetechnik: Figures, data, facts

  • Production volume: Approx. 40 million precision parts per year.

  • Daily output: Around 130,000 forgings leave our factory every day.

  • Material expertise: processing 41,000 tons of high-quality steel per year.

  • Employees: A team of 220 specialists ensures our technological market leadership.
