Sustainability

Sustainability – Our path to a CO2-neutral future

As part of the Ford family, we are committed to the “Road to Better”. Our goal is to harmonize industrial production with the protection of our planet.

  • Target 2050:
We are actively working towards our vision of being CO2-neutral across our entire value chain by 2050.

  • Resource efficiency:
We minimize waste through material-saving processes such as wedge rolling and the direct recycling of aluminium residues in the melting process.

  • Green energy:
We continuously invest in modern plant technology in order to constantly reduce energy consumption per manufactured component (ISO 50001).

  • Responsibility:
For us, sustainability also means social responsibility – fair working conditions and occupational safety at the Cologne site have top priority.

Environmental protection

The earth belongs to all of us; we bear our share of responsibility.

In order to live up to our guiding principle of environmental protection, we as a company have decided to produce our forged and die-cast products in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner and to pursue independent environmental and energy targets.

Our engagement in the field of Environmental and Energy Management at a glance:

  • Certification according to ISO 14001 (environmental management system) since 1998
  • Certification according to ISO 50001 (energy management system) since 2012
  • Annual testation of the environmental and energy management by Lloyd’s register
  • 3-annual recertification of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 by LRQA
  • We produce with “green electricity” from Norwegian hydroelectric plants
  • Ongoing improvement in regards of water savings, energy savings, waste reduction and disposal
